The Voice of Vietnam is a reality television singing competition created by John de Mol. It is scheduled to premiere in Vietnam in July 2012 on Vietnam Television. The format is Dutch and the original Dutch version of the program was broadcast in the Netherlands for the first time in 2010 as The Voice of Holland. The program was commissioned after a successful first season in the US, where the program aired on NBC domestically and AXN Asia regionally. It will be produced by Cat Tien Sa.

Contestants are aspiring singers drawn from public auditions. The show’s format features three stages of competition. The first is the blind audition, in which four coaches listen to contenders without seeing them, and turn their chairs to signify that they are interested in working with that artist. If more than one coach turns the chair, the artist chooses the coach he or she would like to work with. The blind audition ends when each coach has fourteen (Vietnamese version) artists to work with. Coaches will dedicate themselves to developing their singers, giving them advice, and sharing the secrets of their success.

The competition then enters into a battle round, when the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other to sing the same song together in front of a studio audience. After the one-on-one battle on stage, the coach must choose which singers will advance. Thus less than half of original artists survive to live shows lasting 10 weeks so far. In this final performance phase of the competition, the top contestants from each team compete against each other during a live broadcast. The television audience vote to save one contestant on each team, leaving the coach to decide live who they want to save and who will not move on. In the semi-final round, the public directly chooses between the two artists left on each team based upon an online music video produced and released by the executive producers.

Finally, each coach will have his/her best contestant left standing to compete in the finals, singing an original song. From these four, one will be named “Giọng hát Việt” (literally: “The Voice of Vietnam”) – and will receive a cash prize of 500 million VND and a recording contract with Universal Republic Records.

This year, Lafairy Team is so proud to have one of our crews participating in this famous contest, his name is Luan – our singer whose voice has attracted many passengers onboard. “good singer”, “impressive”, “great song” are the awesome words they gave him, which means that his voice is highly appreciated. Compared with other contestants, Luan does not have good look, does not know how to dance or how to compose a song but what makes him different is his voice which brings emotions to listeners and convince them. Speaking about that, some may wonder why a sail crew wants to be a singer. Honestly, Luan loves sea, it’s the reason why he chose to be a crew in LaFairy Sails. However, singing is his true love and he wants to use his talent to serve listeners not only the ones onboard but also all over the country.

The Voice of Vietnam 2016 will officially start with the first stage Blind audition on 14th March, 2016, promises to be a “shining” night of the contestants who passed the audio stage. We do hope that Luan will have a great performance, contribute to a fantastic music show for audience.
